Over the last month we have seen that the promises made by our mobile network operator, Kyivstar, are not being kept. We were promised that cell phone numbers and balances belonging to people, who live on the occupied lands will be functioning as usual. But the numbers are already being sold. Especially those that had Wi-Fi contracts. People are very nervous. They lost connection with their family and friends, who live in free Ukraine and Europe. Mobile apps don’t work. Due to the change in the ownership of bank card numbers the incidents of money theft from the bank cards are more abundant. Many people have bank cards that are expired (and no opportunity to renew them – translator). It is no longer possible to buy food using Ukrainian cards (even illegally). It is becoming harder and harder every month to convert hryvnias into rubles and get cash. Most of the citizens, who managed to not pay Russian bills for gas, electricity and household expenses for more than a year and a half, broke down and started paying because they are afraid of losing their own homes. If you have debts, your accommodation is expropriated (by the Russian government – translator).
